Work in progress: Unsettled.
Unsettled is a Paranormal/Urban Fantasy novel that I was posting, chapter-by-chapter, via Patreon. Check out the first chapter here, and stay tuned, as I am currently time traveling to write Neil’s origin story.
Neiloufar “Neil” Ahmad is a bartender in fictional Caramond, CA, who has an (unpaid) part time job as Guardian of the region; keeping the peace and balancing the supernatural forces (mostly-harmless witches, faeries, most notably a really hot, really annoying exiled faerie noble, merpersons, etc.) She’s having a bad week. It started out tall, dark, and handsome, when oddly-familiar James Whelan blew into town. Since then, she’s been attacked by a smoke monster, a regular at her bar is murdered in the parking lot, and she’s pulling double shifts because all of the bar’s applicants have gone missing. The local Sheriff has got it in for her, and her relationship with her fiance, who is in the dark about her power, is about as shaky as the ground has been lately. Not to mention she’s been having weird dreams about the Great ‘Quake of 1906, and a sudden surge of her predecessors’ memories. Will she remember in time to continue to keep Caramond safe?
